Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) : The scanner is large enough to accommodate the whole body - like an encapsulated x-ray machine. MRI provides an unparalleled view inside the human body. The level of detail we can see is extraordinary compared with any other imaging modality. MRI is the method of choice for the diagnosis of many types of injuries and conditions because of the incredible ability to tailor the exam to the particular medical question being asked. By changing exam parameters, the MRI system can cause tissues in the body to take on different appearances. This is very helpful to the radiologist (who reads the MRI) in determining if something seen is normal or not. We know that when we do "A," normal tissue will look like "B" -- if it doesn't, there might be an abnormality. MRI systems can also image flowing blood in virtually any part of the body. This allows us to perform studies that show the arterial system in the body, but not the tissue around it. In many cases, the MRI system can do this without a contrast injection, which is required in vascular radiology.
An electroencephalogram (EEG) is a test to detect abnormalities in the electrical activity of the brain. Brain cells communicate by producing tiny electrical impulses. In an EEG, electrodes are placed on the scalp over multiple areas of the brain to detect and record patterns of electrical activity and check for abnormalities.
The test is performed by an EEG technician in a specially designed room that may be in your health care provider's office or at a hospital. You will be asked to lie on your back on a table or in a reclining chair. The technician will apply between 16 and 25 flat metal discs (electrodes) in different positions on your scalp. The discs are held in place with a sticky paste. The electrodes are connected by wires to an amplifier and a recording machine. The recording machine converts the electrical signals into a series of wavy lines that are drawn onto a moving piece of graph paper. You will need to lie still with your eyes closed because any movement can alter the results.
You may be asked to do certain things during the recording, such as breathe deeply and rapidly for several minutes or look at a bright flickering light.

MRI is magnetic resonance imaging a deep scan that reveals all sorts of things. EEG is Electro electroencephalograms (excuse the spelling) and tracks brain activity.

In an MRI scan they use a big machine to take a sort of x-ray of your head to look for abnormalities. In an EEG they use some wires glued around your head to read brain electricity.
Neither hurt at all.

MRI is magnetic resonance imaging its better than x ray and more expensive EEG is electro encephalogram used to plot brain waves to see for brain function

MRI stands for Magnetic Resonance Imaging. This type of scan uses magnetism to build up a picture of the inside of the body instead of X-rays.

EGG is for Electroencephalography, the neurophysiologic measurement of the electrical activity of the brain.

an MRI is a MAGNETIC Resonance Imageing system. A very powerfull magnetic field is generated, and a computer system can see each part of the iron in your body's by its magnetic pattern.

An EEG is an ElectroEncephloGram, which is a direct measurement of electrical brainwaves in the brain.

MRI = Megnetic Resonance Imaging.... a non-invasive, non-x-ray technique of getting images from inside the body

EEG = Electro-encephalogram... just like an EKG .. it records the electrical activity of your brain by simply appying some electriodes on the skull surface

usually these two tests are done to diagnose some disease of the brain like tumor etc thatt may be causing fits in the patient

MRI means magnetic resonance imaging. That Is, by passing magnetic waves the reflection of those waves by various tissues can be studied This technique is use full to find out tumours, blood clot, hemorrhage, can be located.
EEG means electro encephalogram. This technique is use full to study various types of epilepsy - convulsions.
