im not sure what your asking b/ of the way you phrased things so ill just offer some basic beliefs and a website for you. islam is not at all about PRIDE. islam is about faith and community. islam has been set up so as to address the spiritual as well as the practical......yes unity and loyalty are very strong priniciples in Islam.

Muslim means one who submits... meaning one who submits to God..... in Islam you loyalty is to be with God above all and then after that to family.

Books : John L Esposito's Islam the Straight Path..... he is a non muslim so he presents a non bias but accurate view

also, lectures by Hamza Yusuf..... hes is very easy to listen to

The best, scientific and most unprejudiced way to know about anything is to refer to its most authentic source. The source book of Islam is the Quran. If I were you, I would get a copy or download one and go through it - so that I do not get into baseless arguments without being equipped enough.
I am not a born Muslim but after a thorough and unbaised study, I have found it to be the most scientific, satisfying, and effective school of life. IT WORKS - esp.the school of the Ahl al-Bayt. Another good book to go through in this context is the Nahj al-Balaghah (Peaks of Eloquence) which is a compilation of some very powerful speeches, letters and quotations of one of the leaders of this faith, Imam Ali. Both the Quran and the other book are available in English translations.
Happy discovery!

No islam is not about pride. Islam always aims to make its believers follow the straight path, which has everything positive and nothing to harm others. There are many misunderstandings about Islam. I think it is best that people find out more about Islam if they have doubts.

Well I would like to answer it in reverse. Islam restrain reason and individual freedom. It makes its subject subservient to all power full god. This is not always in best interest of human being. However for most ordinary people it is easier to follow and hence they may consider it as a good choice

Why should Islam stand out from the rest? All faiths and religions are designed to attract people from all thoughts, statures and other human made standings.

It is unique to you, your rationale, your emotions and other influences. Therefore to you, who chose this faith, only you know the meaning.

Blind faith, obstinacy, refusal to see logic, prohibiting human mercy, feudalism and cruelty is what Islam is all about. By Allah`s grace fundamentalist Arab Muslims became oil rich without working for it.
