Gotta b Queen. But KISS were deadly. They were so funny but great musically. Performance wise id say AC/DC cos they electrified u with high voltage rock. But Queen wrote some beautiful music while still rockin. Its very hard for a solo artist 2 do this cos he/she is alone onstage with only backing people and every1 has theyre eyes on u. But i think Jimi Hendrix pulled this off amazingly because he performed so well and entertained the crowd(and lit his guitar on fire!!!).

it's too personal. what makes an artist being your favourite artist is what they make you feel, and what you feel is what only you feel. The best artist is that artist that with their music and their words touch that something in you that makes you feel "hey they read my heart and put it into their song", like if you wrote that song. And if it happens again and again and again with many songs of the same artist, then that's the greatest artist or band ever, for you.

Queen without a doubt, but it would be a close second between elvis and michael jackson(his singing only) for the solo artist

Plumb121 has made a great choice with Aqua - a much under-rated band.

Personally I would say Ian Anderson is a fantastic performer both solo and as the lead in Jethro Tull. He is a skilled performer and is genuinely witty in between songs. As a musician as well as a singer he can perform a wide range of music from classical to rock.
I have seen him live once and can't wait for the next opportunity. After well over 35 years performing he has certainly polished his act to a nigh on perfect shine!

I cant only say one coz there are greats in lots of different areas of music but up there should be Meatloaf, Elvis, Usher, Take That and Kylie Minogue, Gladys Knight, Celine Dion, and Freddy Mercury.

Band - gotta be the Beatles! As for soloist - much as I can't stand the guy personally, it's got to be Michael Jackson - he's just plain freakin' weird, but he's a compelling performer.
