this reminds me of the guitar magazines polls 100 greatest solos of all time....the top 3 are always stairway to heaven,free bird and eruption....but it depends on what you are looking for in a solo..such as the spazmatic masturbation of eruption...the technical such as eric johnsons cliffs of dover....or effects like the wah wah solo from chigago's 25 or 6 to 4...or pure speed like overkill's elimination...theres so many great guitarists such as jimi hendrix(little wing was a masterpiece) randy rhodes (mr crowley was great) zakk wylde (no more tears) leslie west(mississippi queen) alex lifeson(closer to the heart) gary hoey (hocus pocus) vernon reid (cult of personality) dimebag darrel (cemetary gates and hollow...just to name a couple) kirk hammet(fade to black,master of puppets,the thing that should not be)and many other guitarist....theres to many great solos to pinpoint just one "all time greatest" solo
