because it's the latest version, because i doubt there are going to be any more security patches for ie 6. No reason not to download IE 7. If you have auto updates on, it's going to happen anyway. Is there a reason to stop using firefox? no. If you like firefox, keep on using it. I've got IE7 and Firefox 2.0 beta and i like them both. IE 6 was the biggest piece of crap ever, and I'm happy it's off my computer.

Sorry, there isn't one. Eventually, Microsoft will probably require you to have IE7, so you can download updates & patches (I wouldn't be surprised.)
In the meantime, get Firefox, if you don't already have it:

I made the move about 1-1/2 to 2 years ago, and it's great. Hardly use IE anymore.

I also am a firefox user and I am trying IE7 too. So far, I don't have a really good reason to switch back to IE7.

I find some websites don't like to work with FireFox, when they have embedded media etc, so I use IE to view them.
Generally, though, stick to FireFox, just have IE around in case you need it.

I would wait a while and see what kind of feedbacks I get, before doing this.
