The Movie Miami vice phone?

anyone knows what mobilephone in the movie Miami Vice they are using with the big antenna ?

It looked like a satellite phone they have big antennas because they get signal off satellites not radio towers. you can get signal in the middle of the ocean but not inside a building.

I know the one I used with the Army was a Motorola.
