yes it is true
mac's dont get viruses often
but windows are easy
so they get spywares + adwares + trojans easily
but macs
dont get viruses
because when viruses were created they were created for windows :(
so now what people do
they just renew the virus and use it again
so its hard to find a mac virus...

:)

Yes, it is true that the vast majority of viruses are written to attack Windows-based programs - and no! ANY computer connected to the Internet CAN be exposed to malware, so regardless of what computer you get, make sure that you protect it. Contrary to popular belief, the viruses out there CAN attack the newer MACS because of their Windows portablity!

Yes, you should buy a MacPro, but not just for that reason. The MacPro is a power user and gamers delight! It can accommodate a Quad-core processor setup - two of the newest Dual-Core 64-bit Intel Xeon processors! Expansion of up to 4 HDD and up to 2TB - that's TERABYTES - of storage! Killer graphics - after all that's what Apple, Inc. developed their products for - and it is already set up to connect 2 displays!

Here's why I love my new MacBook Pro, and my legacy Strawberry iMac 266 & Power Macintosh 9500's...

* More faster and powerful - no bloated OS! The latest MAC's all sport the Intel Core Duo processor, for amazing performance. It’s made of two execution cores on the same chip, coupled with speedy cache which either core can use.
* Superior Technical Support.
* It just works - PERIOD! No BSOD Blue Screen Of Death!
* Next year’s OS today!
* No hunting for drivers as the MAC's come prepared with all the drivers you’re likely to need for the peripheral devices one generally connects to computers.
* MAC's run Windows software like Microsoft Office, and generally, the file systems are compatable with each other. There may be a few programs whose files cannot be read by a MAC, but I have not encountered them yet on the MacBook Pro.

FYI: You will encounter the usual PC vs MAC debate. I own both MAC's & PC's (that I built) and have them on my home network. I have been a computer end user since I built my Altair in 1976 and have provided professional technical support for BOTH platforms for the past 18. ANY machine will break down - some more than others. It is been my experience that Apple products across the board break down less than the IBM compatables (the current personal computers), their Technical Support is second to none, is a reliable, workhorse of a computer, and, though you may pay a bit more upfront for the Apple computer, your return on that inverstment far outweighs the cheaper priced PC's when you figure in downtime, your time spent on trying to troubleshoot the problem, additional costs for that support, lost data, etc.

For my personal computing needs, I'll take my chances on a MAC anytime, though I live in a Microsoft world professionally.

Do Macs have less problems with viruses? Yes. However, that is only because very few people have targeted Macs with viruses. They actually have less virus protection, and are more vulnerable to attacks.

As to whether or not you want to get a Mac over a PC, it really depends on what you want it for. A Mac is a much better choice if you want to do a lot with pics and video. If you want to play a lot of games, however, you should definitely go with a PC. If you want to use the computer for basic business and school purposes, it really depends on your preference. I'm more familiar with PCs, and so I prefer them, but I don't think they outshine Macs here. If you want to do a lot of high-end graphic design, you want a Mac. If you want to do high-end business, you want a PC (if for no other reason, more software titles are available for PC, and are available sooner for PC).

If you go with a Mac, you might be asking this question a lot in the future, "Is that available on a Mac?"

Not so much with a PC. However, there are a lot of features that Macs have that keep customer loyalty.

***EDIT***

I don't buy into the myth that Macs don't crash as often, or that they're "more stable." I have only had to reboot my computer a handful of times using Windows XP. Usually when I do, I can still save everything first, or everything automatically saves. When I was going to school, however, most of the computers were Macs and I had to reboot at least once a day, and I never was able to save first. This is part of the reason I don't want to ever go Mac. To be fair, however, that was before OS10, and before XP I had a lot of problems with PCs.

My parents have a Mac and they can't rate it highly enough, they don't have any of the associated problems that Windows based PC's do....ANY! My Brother-In-Law uses one for his business and he hasn't experienced any problems with his either, bearing in mind that he uses it constantly for his graphic design business - he can't rate his highly enough either!

I have Windows on my desktop PC and on my laptop - with no end of problems!

I'm buying my eldest son a Macbook for Christmas and see it as a very worthwhile investment.
