The Mets will, they can only get better. Rumor has it that the Mets will be going after Alphonso Soriano, Julio Lugo and Zito. If Omar continues to be great at signing big name players the Mets will look like this...

SS Jose Reyes .300 AVG 64 SB 19 HR in 2006
CF Carlos Beltran 41 HR 100+ RBI & RS in 2006
LF Alphonso Soriano 40 + HR, SB & 2B in 2006
1B Carlos Delgado 38 HR in 2006
3B David Wright .300+ AVG with power to all fields 5 tool
C Paul LaDuca .300+ AVG spray hitter
2B Julio Lugo .295 AVG 39 SB 36 2B in 2006
RF Lastings Millage Blue Chip Prospect potential 5 Tool player

5 Man Rotation of ?

Pedro
Tom Glavine
El Duque
John Maine
Oliver Perez
Mike Williams
Mike Pelfrey
and a few others, all pitched for the Mets in 2006 if they add Zito, Schmidt or Lilly they will have some quality starters who will be out of the loop. Look for Traschel to be out for sure, and while Oliver Perez has a high stock, he may be trade bait. In relief, Duanner Sanchez will be back, Wagner, Heilman, and Mota are all there too. Look for Darren Oliver to be a casualty in the bullpen, and a set-up man to be traded.

Ther has also been the yearly Manny to the Mets trade talk. The Sox need pitching, Endy Chavez, Heilman and a minor league player should be enough. Millage would come up and play Endy's role, as 4th outfielder with Manny in left and Soriano in right. Heilman can start for the Sox, and so could Endy in right as well as lead off for them. However this trade is unlikely, even though it helps both teams.

Lots of questions need to be answered, but I would still have to go with the Mets.

Well, the beggining of the season two years ago I called that the Red Sox would win....the end of last season I said the Cards, so for next season? Hmmm...

Well, if the Cardinals DO win (which they will) then I say either the Orioles or the Marlins. Don't ask why, that's just what I think.

Unlike the 3rd person, I know that you mean baseball, cuz baseball is the only sport where the championship is called the World Series. Anyways, I think that the Mets are going to win it all, not just because they're my favorite team, but also they got so close this year, and they will do even better next year, with almost no free agents this year.

Why ask such a ridiculous question, and waste 5 points? This year's games have just started yesterday.
