Id like to hear everyone opinions on this subject: Where do you guys think racism started? How was it created? Was it always with us from the start of mankind? Do you guys think racism is natural or is there another driving force behind it?

Racism is a belief in the moral or biological superiority of one race or ethnic group over another or others.

The term racism is sometimes used to refer to preference for one's own ethnic group. (ethnocentrism), fear of difference (xenophobia), views or preferences against interbreeding of the races (miscegenation), and nationalism, regardless of any explicit belief in superiority or inferiority fact. Related concepts include prejudice, discrimination and racialism. Racism has been used to justify social discrimination, racial segregation and violence, including genocide.

The term racist, when used to describe someone who supports racism, has been a pejorative term since at least the 1940s, and the identification of a group or person as racist is nearly always controversial.

A number of international treaties have sought to end racism. The United Nations uses the definition of racial discrimination laid out in the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination and adopted in 1966:

...any distinction, exclusion, restriction or preference based on race, color, descent, or national or ethnic origin which has the purpose or effect of nullifying or impairing the recognition, enjoyment or exercise, on an equal footing, of human rights and fundamental freedoms in the political, economic, social, cultural or any other field of public life..
In 2000, the European Union banned racism along with many other forms of social discrimination: "Article 21 of the charter prohibits discrimination on any ground such as sex, race, color, ethnic or social origin, genetic features, language, religion or belief, political or any other opinion, membership of a national minority, property, disability, age or sexual orientation and also discrimination on the grounds of nationality.

I think that soon after Adam and Eve started populating the world, of course different personalities were born and so different opinions too. We today need to remember that black people were not the only slaves. The Isrialites were slaves, the Indians were slaves, Hitler murdered people that were not blue eyed and blonde hair. So many different races are treated cruely because of their skin. It is ignorance....we were all made in the image of God whether you like it or not! We all have red blood. Racism will always be here but we should remember the truth adn educate ourselves instead of letting racism have its way.

Racism just started out of circumstance, it was not with us from the start it has stemmed from greed.

Just as when you were growing up the place where you lived was the world. i think it was the same for the people who lived in their countries. however, the explorers some were mainly after gold and wealth, when came upon people who were of a different colour must of been amazed, when they saw how loving and beautiful they were. they took that kindness for docility and all they could see were £$£$$££. They took them as slaves. and even today though slavery is aboloshed you cannot wipe out that memory overnight. That memory goes deep in the cells, both ways. There needs to be a worldwide healing and forgiveness and apology and acknowledgement for what has been done for racism to go away.

when modern day humans first evolved, they came out of africa. their minds evolved due to thier surroundings, a hot continent with out much water or food, so their minds adjusted as well as thier skin. it was only after humans began to travel into different locations and adapt to thier habitat, such as cold places will eventually over centuries lighten the skin. these different places would create different culture and languages. it is not clear when racism started, but people generally do not understand anything thats different and thats when any form of xenophobia can start.
