I like to act my normal self. I do not go out of my way to hurt or shock anyone. However I also do not hide the fact that I am gay should the subject come up. This is particularly true if someone, whether they are a stranger or an acquaintance, says something that is completely homophobic. (and I don't mean just a good gay joke as I have a sense of humour too!) I usually say something like " Pardon me but I'm gay and I find that comment completely unnecessary." It usually shuts them up completely. I also, when it becomes necessary, always refer to my partner of 27 yrs, as just that 'My Partner'. I find that the vast majority of people just accept the fact with no problem. (Of course, living in Canada helps. LOL)

I'm 53 and was raised to believe in public decorum for everyone. I sometimes hold my g/f's hand if we are in an appropriate setting, sometimes chastely kiss, again in an appropriate setting. I did the same thing with my ex husband and any other people I have been involved with. There is a time and a place for everything. I am not put off, however, by how other people dress or act unless its demeaning and disrespectful and looking for attention. And that goes for straight as well as GLBT.

Depends on how far you mean to go I see nothing wrong with some public display of affection. But you should not as Lady Aster said be doing anything to scare the horses.

In general, I usually don't participate in public displays of affection all that much.
But yes, I do have "gay positive" stickers on my vehicle. Although mine are more understated.
They have to be since my partner is not "out" to her Father and if she takes the "family" vehicle to go visit, she can't have obvious "gay" signs all over the vehicle.

In general I express it verbally..........I refer to my partner with all the correct verbage, and if people catch on-fine, occasionally I do have to clarify and then either they go on with the conversation or they step back to rethink things........I do love watching the ones that have to think about it!!!

neither, i don't scream hi mary i'm a queer as i run through the market, and i don't hump my man on the sidewalk at wal mart. i'm me, and straights are the ones who question sexuality publically. they scream ****** from passing cars (not enough balls to stop and say it) mumble stuff under their breath etc etc. i don't publically dispaly my sexuality any more than anyone. why shouldn't i hold hands or kiss my man goodbye, or say i love you? why does it matter who we sleep with anyway? its such a small part of who we are.

I like to keep everyone guessing. It's not necessary to express sexuality, it's better to exude it.
