What kind of bird has hair??

Well I will go through three steps:
Hair: As everyone else pointed out is long (if not cut)and is also dead. The color portion of anyones hair is dead technically.
Fur: Some fur on animals is special for the climate they live in.
Caribou on one hand have really great Winter coats to sustain the cold. They have hollow hairs which hold hot air.
Wolves have really thick fur coats as well. They have an undercoat and a hard coat on top. The undercoat is really soft, warm, and insulating. The top coat is rough and long. It protects them from undergrowth that they live in and it helps to keep snow or rain from reaching the undercoat.
Feathers: If you have ever had geese live in your home then you understand how feathers work.
Birds of any kind have oils at a sertain place on their body. On Geese they have these oil places on their body on either side of their tail feathers. Just like the wolf the Geese have two coats of feathers. There are the "downy" feathers which are really soft and light. (Now you know what they use in feather pillows). The top feathers are waterproof so they protect the downy feathers from getting wet, which would weight the bird down, which means that the bird could not fly. Back to the oils a bird has. If the goose chooses to bathe the goose will clean it's feathers. Then when the goose is finished bathing it will rub its head and neck all around it's body to get the oils all around the coat to make the feathers stay waterproof.

Do you mean whats the difference between hair and feathers since yourefer to birds. If that is the case then it's because the feather is a highly modified scale, since birds come from the dinosaurs in a roundabout manner. Hair on the other hand is a filamentous series of cells eminating from a folical.

I think "fur" is considered to cover the most or all of the entire animal, while "hair" is considered a partial cover.
Birds? They have tiny hairs in their ears...

I don't know, but some earlier anwers said animals have fur and human hair, but I thought dogs have 'hair'.

Hair is finer than fur but feathers are finer than hair (in a single strand)!

none between hair and fur....time .climate clothes mean we dont need it as thick anymore.... we have more hair than monkeys only finer.. and birds if you havent noticed have feathers..derr
