i really sympathize with Lebanon and whats happening there, but has anybody noticed that the rest of the arab world seem more concerned and depressed about Lebanon more than many Lebanese people?
i dont know about other countries, but i'm sure they help, i only know about Egypt, people here are very angry and they are doing their best to help Lebanon.
but lets face it, cant u see how Lebanese celebrities are acting, they are having so much fun, many many of them left lebanon right away and came here to stay at the most luxurious hotels, performing in concerts and parties all night.
arent they sad about their country? they are on tv all day as if nothing had happened.
its really disappointing
for myself, i lost that hurt and anger inside me day by day, and i dont care as i did when the war started, as when i see those singers and actors not giving a damn, i cant be more concerned than they should be.
God bless the innocent Lebanese poeple and people who really care about Lebanon

i didnt say that ALL lebanese are celebrating, i said some famous artists, like singers and actresses.
and i dont need to be in lebanon to see what they are doing, because most of them are here in Egypt and i know they are partying and appearing in all of our tv shows talking about their concerts and cosmetic surgeries, its really sad.
i'm sure that lebanese citizens are feeling terrible thats why i feel bad for their loss.
Again I'M COMMENTING ON THE CELEBRITIES.

Kate r u a celebrity? why are u talking about urself, i was only commenting on lebanese celebrities.
and u dont have to defend lebanon, saying ur not terrorists, because i'm an arab and i support lebanon, it is the closest country to our (egyptians) hearts, and u know that.

who told u that we are happy. we barely survived. and yes, we are proud of what Hezbollah accomplished. 1st time ever defeating the invaders since 1948! UN is just a group of monopoly players.
I feel ashamed to hear whats is happening in Egypt. We don't see it here in Beirut. These singers and celebrities should be banned for life!
At least they should respect the 1500 Lives that have been killed!
Anyway, a big big thanks to all those who helped, especially from our loved ones, the Egyptians (not the government)

Yasmine,
I applead them for what they are doing doing. They are trying to move one in their life. To live their life as best they can, and what is better way other than do what makes them feel good about themselves and their life. Or, would you rather that they fester in their pain, and live in the yesterday. Would it look better if they just cover their head and eyes and lay down and die, or would it be better to live their life and show all other that they are strong and nothing will take them down! which ! This is one of the problems in the Middle East. People refuse to let go, and move on with their life. The Arab are famous of looking in the past, and say we were this and that, our family this and that, and how that certain people did this and that to us. They like to play the victim card too much and too many times, rather than move on as the Lebanse people are clearly trying to do that. They have been hit by the syrian, the Israelis, and who ever and they want to get on with their life. Don't feel sorry for them, but celebrite their courage they want to make their home to what it once used to be the Paradise of the Middle East.

I hope you do lose the anger and the hurt, only then you will move on to make your life and those who are around you a better life. They are on TV not as if nothing happen, but as they are telling the world, when we get knocked down, we will get up and make it back up again. They are showing their strength, not weakness. That no matter how much they lose, they will built it back up again and better, as they did before. DO you remember the civil war! and they went pass it, and made their country better. I say bravo to them all. May God give them the power and strength to keep it up, smile, dance, and have a lovely and blessed life. right on Lebanese people RIGHT ON.
GOD bless the innocent people who ever they are in Lebanon or anywhere else.

i think these celebrities u were talking about who had concerts to do in Egypt had already signed contracts for that and they had to do it or else they would have to pay for brieching the contract.

Here in lebanon people are depressed, we lost a lot this summer, 1000s of lives, lots of houses, money etc... u have no idea how hard it is to pick up and start all over again. We have done this several times now, unfortunately, and i think we will be doing it again and again.

we have suffered tremendously and our children have lost their innocence. I have a 4 year old who has changed this summer and is talking like an adult now, scared that war will start all over again when he should be thinking of toys.

it's not that we don't care or we celebrate while there is war, but we do our best to survive, we put on a happy face to keep our family going...u have no idea how hard it is to watch everything fall down around u and u can't do anything and no one is doing anything to help u.

And we r not terrorists. we are simple people whose land is always raped, assaulted, fought over, destroyed....we do our best to survive, some may see it as terrorism, some may see it as non-challence, but we just do our best to survive and not to be drawn into sorrow and hatred.

Hey Yasmine chill girl
No I am not a celebrity...did u expect some celebrities to come answer your question??? and I wasn't talking about me LOL

About the terrorist thing it wasn't meant for u but for the ADAM guy who said we r terrorists.

Thanks for your concerns tho...PEACE

My name is John Smith, I am American who is living in Lebanon. Who told you that the people are celebrating? who is they don't care about Lebanon? See you don't live here so you don't know about people or how people living now. They are totally depressed and they are working very hard to rebuild their country. If 1 celebrated it dosen't mean that all are happy. I would also like to thank the Egyptian people for helping the Lebanese people.

REMEMBER PEACE IS THE ANSWER!

Lebanon always has been a collection of varying & rivaling groups and classes. Those who went untouched, or only inconvienced, by the war don't particularly consider it "their" war, "their" people or "their" problem. I suspect that this is particularly true of the mainly well-to-do Christians & visiting Gulf high rollers frequenting Beruit night clubs who don't identify one bit with displaced Palestinians and the Shia poor living in south Beruit and beyond. But, a question: hasn't it always been that way? Lebanon is a prime example of a polyglot society.

I have known of my Lebanese friend who is safely back in Africa now I have known her many years & she is an ordinary person just trying to get on with her life like a lot of other people sometimes no matter what you try & do there always seem to be some lunatic faction trying to change things,I wish these people would go jump into oblivion & lets have a little more peace in our world for once."Lunatics are you listening"

Iy u are rich and famous, why not travel and celebrate your life as much as you can? Why should you left a war affect your life style? You are angrt at the celebraties because they can escape from danger and others can't. Let's face it, such is life.

I think maybe you are taking it wrong.

We have always had entertainment, even when we were in war and in depression. We had Shirley Temple, who was there taking everyones minds off the depression. She was a child star and doing her job entertaining to bring people up, not to bring people down. Her and other stars back then were not to go on presentations always stating their sadness on what was happening, but to take peoples minds off of the situations.

Entertainment is meant to take your mind off of the pain and conflict. They are not to come on tv or whatever every day and state their personal views on situations. It is not meant to hurt you. I am sure the people are trying to just do their jobs to entertain and not to hurt you.

with all my respect..real artists and singers stayed and they did a lot to help their people, to name few;
Fairouz, Zyad ElRahbany, Julia Botros, Magda ElRoumy, Marcel Khalifa..
Julia Botros for example who is a Christian Maron performed a great song inspired by Hassan Nasrallah's speech.
Viva Lebanon.
