When faced with responsibility to run away may seem the easier option than to stand and face it...things are never just one or the other are they?.....why do so many people choose to run away from their responsibilities, and regardless of reason, does it still make it right to do so?........

Why did you have to ask this question just now? I am struggling with a family tragedy which my heart cries out for me to run away. To face it means the loss of my grandchildren, maybe forever. But my responsibility to them says I must stand & fight, though I (psychologically) die. No, things are very seldom just one way or the other; shades appear that cloud our judgement. The final question must always be, "Did I do right by God and my conscience?".

The easy route is usually the wrong one. As an adult, you have to live up to your responsibilities, no matter how tempting it may be to run away when the going gets tough. Many people choose to be irresponsible because they are weak, careless, selfish, with no self-control. No, it isn't right. It's human nature to change your mind. Sometimes you start down a path then realize it's not the right one. But you still have to fulfill your obligations and be an adult about it. If you've made a mistake, admit it & do whatever you need to do to correct it, for the best of everyone involved.

Responsibility is like confidence. You can see it in a child. The moment iit gains confidence it will start to stand up , albeit slowly. If it falls it will take the responsibility and will try again. This is the trait that we all grow with till the very end.

Everyone takes responsibility firts for themselves and then for the others around them.with eash such experience you grow in confidence and take on more.

I donot agree that people choose to run away. The people that you saw are the people who have not yet arrived at that comfort zone to take responsibility though you may be at that level. That is the only difference.

But , like everything there are exceptions. These are the people who take their own lives , who take undue responsibities to rule the world.

Net net people do take responsibility.

It is not a moral issue. There is no right and wrong in this, just choice. You can choose to run away and spend your whole life complaining that circumstances and other people FORCED you to do one thing or another. Or you can be true to yourself and take on that your life will only work if you are responsible for it. Even if you want someone else to take responsibility for your life, they cannot unless you are willing. Likewise, you can abdicate your own resopnsibility to yourself, but that will be a pretence. Your abdication is a choice and you will then be responsible for your life not working, whether you choose to see it or not. The choice then is not about whether or not to be responsible, but it about choosing or not to BE responsible and act in accordance with that responsibility so that your life turns out the way you want it to.

The road less traveled is often the correct path. It is very, very hard to do the right thing and so most run, but easier does not always mean better. I go the extra mile, and do the hard stuff to become a better person. but it is in mortal nature to want an easy way out

responsibility is a heavy word, with ethical connotations.

instead of saying whether you want to shoulder the responsibility or to leave it - look at it from another perspective - what kind of person do you want to be? if you want to become a responsible person, you will have to take on the responsibilities that come with your duties and everyday tasks.

do you feel better in a world where people hold themselves responsible for their own actions, or do you feel contented with just having the police watch over us? your views will go a long way in deciding who you want to be, and from within yourself, you will find your answer to your question.

last but not least, think from the other person's shoes. one of these days, you may be in the same position.

I always take full responsibility for my actions, always have, and always will. I'm an honorable and ethical person, and to run away would belie my strength of character.

I don't personally believe that running from responsibility is ever justified.

People run away because they have a fear of failing. Especially now because we seem to live in a blame it on someone else society! It is difficult to assess right or wrong in running away, I guess it depends on the particular situation.

face your fears and deal with your responsibilities. You should never run because everything will catch up with you. Pray about it and then God will show you favor in all areas of your life.

some people are stuck in the mentalitly of a child their whole life........ never able to make an adult decision constantly forming co-dependant relationships. often times a result of trauma in the past. i'm currently considering marrying someone i love very much and have known my whole.... but i fear he is one of these people

regardless of reason.... it is not right. we cannot walk around constantly blaming our parents or childhood for the way we act. at some point majority of us learn right and wrong for ourselves. those who dont are not looking to
