Mac VS PC. With the advantages of both, why is it so hard to find software, games or accessories for Mac? I love my Mac, but I have such a hard time finding ANYTHING that will work on it.

Anyone have any reasons why that is? Please, no snide or sarcastic answers.

I have an iMac and an ibook. It has really not been harder for me. I work with PCs all day. I have to deal with the crashing, virus/spyware, slowdowns, and other random problems. I think its harder to use a PC (effectively).

The software problem isn't really that bad. I have been able to get the software that I need. If a software vendor doesn't make a Mac version you can find a mac program that does the same thing. If you are having trouble with finding software go here (http://guides.macrumors.com/List_of_Universal_Binaries) it has a good list of universal apps. Also, go to Apple's website they have a lot of software titles for sale on the site.

I find, for me, the Mac is platform is better. I do a little bit of video and audio editing but, mostly I do internet and word processing and some gaming.

Mac's have a differnt setup then a PC. When software is programmed it has to be programmed around that machines specifications its made to work on. Unlike a PCs, Macs are kinda a closed market and make their own specifications instead of following the PC world.

I too like Macs for some reason. But because of its incompatibility with hardware/software Its really hard to find software made for it. I know Mac has done something about this by allowing you to boot Windows Operating System by using something called Boot Camp. I would check that out if I was you. Other then that you would have to use a Windows Emulator for Mac to run software made for Windows.

It depends what you're doing.

Most software is developed for Windows because it gives you the largest possible market.

If you're working in an enviroment where a lot of Mac's are used (Audio and video editing, graphical design etc) then they're not harder.

If you plan to use them in 'the real world' then it may be slightly harder, but not much.

No, Macs are easier to use in any world. With only five percent of the market most stores stock software and peripherals for the "other 95 percent". There are plenty of choices in online stores and resellers for Mac "stuff". Enjoy your Mac!

I think you just need to know where to look. Some programs haven't been updated to run on intel Macs yet, they're working on them tho, some faster than others.
