The drums are the easiest instrument to learn, well except for the triangle ;-)

Do you mean learn to play fundamentally, or learn to play well? ...because there's a very large difference between the two...many people have been naming the drums and the triangle, but even those can be difficult depending on what piece or style you're playing.

The piano can be easy as long as you stay in the key of C or play with one hand or play one note at a time, but once you get into key changes and chord progressions it gets a lot more difficult.

I'd have to say something simple and percussive like the triangle or the maracas--something where you don't have to worry about hitting multiple objects or paying attention to key signature.
