Trying to organize my workstation at home, closets, boxes of stuff I have saved or have put aside to go thru later but never do, etc. Piles of paperwork to go through and wanting to change that habit!

Take a vow you will spend 10 mins every day opening stuff and chucking what you don't need. This is more acceptable to your psyche than trying to tackle the lot.

If after a week you find the piles are growing rather than diminishing, increase to 15 mins a day.

Here's something you can try.
Only open your mail in one place. In that 'place' have everything you'll need to deal with the mail. For instance:
Your shredder is right there. Always shred any credit card offers, etc., anything anyone could use to 'assume' your identity. Have a file there for bills to be paid. If you get catalogs and see something you may want to order, cut out the information & keep it in a binder or file, as well. Junk mail is just that, junk! If it needs to be tossed, toss it, right then & there. If it needs to be shredded, do it! Notices regarding upcoming events, you will be attending can be written on your calendar. This is really all it takes to eliminate those papers. This doesn't take a lot of time, just discipline on our part.
Lots of luck & happy organizing.

I had the same problem saved everything had piles of stuff everywhere, If you are able to afford it hire someone to help you organize your stuff. if not have a trusted friend there who will be stern with you and make you throw out stuff.

I started by doing ten minute declutters with my stuff I have now a clean work surface, and when I open my mail if it is junk it goes strainht into the bin, I also found help with flylady it is based in america but they are fantastic I have included the link below they also have a yahoo group too.

Good Luck with it all I hope you have success!

pick one thing at a time and practice it until it becomes habit. take the piles of paperwork that you have to go through and if you haven't looked at it in a year, throw it out.
