I say yeah they are, but in my city, they are really not know. I think 1/20 or lower actually know what the band and likes them, in my town. I'm not sure, because you have a lot of mainstream music that have made a lot of people forget about these legendary bands. I think the AC/DC will become very big once they release a new album. Hey I've heard they're making one.
Though it will be more harder for them because its AC/DC vs todays artist which include alternative rock, emo, pop punk, hip pop, R & B, and rap, if they want to be very big.
They've been around for over 30 years!!!! They still haven't broken up, (which I shouldn't say) and it would really be great if they return.
Whatever AC/DC makes for albums, I will buy. I love that f__king group! Reason why I started listening to rock or Rock N Roll.

You have a taste that is not influenced by whatever is trendy and popular. AC/DC is band that is indeed legendary... historic... They are one of the musical pyramids of Rock n Roll.
It's amazing to me that among the hundreds of groups that have trendied and gone, AC/DC is one of the gold standards that remains. Their chords and progressions, their individuals-as-one mentality, the fact those individuals are copied and emulated to this day... and their music LIVES! It's their sound. It does something to us...
I'm a drummer, and I teach others...and I make my students listen to AC/DC (other groups too!) because of its simplistic artistic power. No flash, no jibber-jabber, just BAM!
While they may be no longer "popular", they are a foundation and it takes a great "ear" and mind and soul to hear them and respect them.
Amazing how many bars I go to and hear the juke boxes jackin AC/DC and everybody is bobbin' heads and singing along!
taking a breath and going to napster for some Hells Bells!
and I had a 5th grader ask me n September if I had heard of AC/DC because she liked them! WE JAMMED!

My daughter (who is 19) and I were discussing who likes AC/DC more... her or me. She says that she likes them more even though I have liked them longer than she has. So... yes, they are still a popular band with the current generation... their music will live on for many more years.

Yes! My 14 yr old bro is a big fan, and I still hear AC/DC tracks when I go clubbing. Ignore people who say you should only listen to them if you're old...if it's something you like, why not! =)
Plus AC/DC tracks are great for playing on the guitar!

Yeah... you have good taste in music ;)
At the local venue where I live, the music all gets played from a jukebox. People put on AC/DC all the time... and they're people of all ages who put them on.

Ofcourse they are! I first started listening to them in the 1970's when Bob Scott was still alive and had one of there first import albums to the U.S. Dirty deeds done dirt cheap. Saw them twice also, 6 months before Bon died, and in Germany in 1985 with the new singer, awsome band.
P.S. In fact, listened to the song Riff Raff today on my way into work on sattelite radio, man I had that mug cranked LOL

Yeah, they are still a popular band. Their songs are featured on shows such as Smallville, Supernatural, and even House.
I think their best song is Thunderstruck.

They are more legendary than "popular" but the important thing is that you love them, right? Who cares if they are on the top of the current charts! Besides, legends always rock. :)
