Did you geta cd with the printer? The driver should be there. If not try the Epson website and download the driver from there. It's usually not a good idea to use compatible printer settings if you can get the real thing. From the website you should be able to find the latest driver. Good luck

ALAN G is right win xp does recognise epson 640
make sure you switch the printer on after you have booted up
if does not work switch on as you boot up
run the add hard ware wizzard and select from list find printer then find epson then 640
or download the drivers from web site and install

Put your CD and do as they say,when youve registered your printer on your computer,go to printers & faxes and follow the instructions, it me a month to get things right I'm ok now I think

you just have to go to the following site and choose your model then download it and install in your pc thats it :)

u have to install the drivers u can get them fro mthier site
