I bought floopy drive for my Pc.. After I connect the cable to the floopy driveand motherboard, I test the floopy drive if its working. I turned on the Pc and test if it could read the diskette. the diskette was detected but when i save a file to the diskette, a message "Write protect Error"occured. I checked the diskette if its write protected but its not. I doublechecked the floopy cable, the floopy drive but same error occured. What will I do to fixed the problem?? pls. help..

i already test the floopy drive in other pc and its working. It could read and write files to the diskette.. what do you think is the error. pls help!

Yeah, pavanis... is right. There's a black "switch" on the upper left hand side of floppy disks, when looking at them from the rear. That's the write protect switch. When it's down, you can write new data to it. When it's up, it's write protected, and you can only read from it, but not write to it.

When you turned the computer on did the LED on the floppy drive stay lit all the time? If it does then you have the floppy IDE cable installed backward. Shut down the computer, and flip the IDE connector over and try again.

hey i know this problem even i faced same

see ur floopy disk ur drive is 100 % right

unlock the write protect notch on ur floppy and try cya

Check to see if the floppy is formatted. If not, your bios might have the wrong type of FD set. Also, try a different floppy disk. If it works, then the first FD may be bad.

check if drives not faulty...test with another drive or test drive in another PC.....
