You will hear a lot of crap, but the truth is that it is a pagan hold over from egypt, the onk, or a cross with a loop at the top. It also symbolizes the trinity, a wholy non biblical tradition.

First of all, please show me a knife that people use for murder, that is in the shape of a cross ( if u mean the symbol in T-shape). By the way, a cross does not have a sharp tip like a knife. A cross does not have a safety handle like a knife, nor is it made with plastic encasing the metal. Crosses are usually made purely in wood, metal or plastic. Therefore, a knife is a knife. A cross is a cross. Please tell me, and send me pictures of someone decorating his or her ear or neck with a knife or accessory knife, if you don't mind. Thank you so much.

I understand you.
This question has 3 days for me to answer, and I want to make sure I'm able to put my thoughts, beliefs, and common sense into keyboarded form. The symbol of the cross is very important to me as a Christian. I'm sorry that I can't just give a knee-jerk repsonse like "it's a symbol" and leave it. Mainly because it's in the philosophy section... I don't think you're looking for a religious answer. I may end up giving one, but philosophy is a tender area...
I'll be back.

There are two things: the cross without a body on it which is symbolic of Jesus overcoming death, and the cross with the body, called a Crucifix, which reminds us of his passion and death in which we are all called to participate in a personal way in our day to day life in the world. When we look at the Crucifix we remember the great Love that he had for us because he did not have to die. He could have called 10,000 angels to come to his rescue but he did not. He chose to die to redeem us and to bring us back into union with God.
The cross is no longer as you say "the enemy's weapon", because by Jesus' resurrection he tranformed the weapon of death into a symbol of life.

The cross is the symbol of the sacrifice Jesus made for us.
Christians believe Christ rose again after the crucifiction.
So yes the cross was the weapon of his death but also the symbol of his sacrifice to us.
As for jewellery I don't wear a cross around my neck, but I wear a watch and a wedding ring.
In the bible it tells followers of Jesus to 'carry their cross' but I don't think that meant jewellery, neither do I have rosary beeds nor pray to a bleeding statue.

The cross is a symbol of His death yes. And yes, it is the instrument of His death. Even more so, it was the worse way to die, the worse death sentence available at the time.
But don't you see, if Christ did not die, there would have been no resurrection. He died to take our place. He died to atone for our sins. He died to reconcile us back to God. He died so we would be given eternal life.
Through His death He has set us free. Through His resurrection He has conquered death. Death, sickness, pain, sin, sorrow, grief has been pinned onto the cross. We are victorious in every sense of the word. The enemy has been conquered before we had to stand up and fight.
Without His death, His sacrifice, everything would be meaningless. God required a sacrifice to wash away our sins. What higher or better sacrifice could be made than laying down His own son to pay the price for our sins? His blood that was spilled at the cross has cleansed us whiter than snow and set us free.
This was why even before Pontius Pilate He said not a word. He didn't complain. He didn't say, Yep, I've had enough of the torture, I'm calling the angels down to pick me up. He went like a lamb to the slaughter because what kept Him going was the thought of you and me.
Without the cross, you and I cannot approach God as we are. He is holy and we would die before we could stand in His presence. But because of the cross, we can come blameless before the throne through Christ and His blood, standing in awe of His glory.
The cross is simply a symbol that my Saviour died for me. I don't need to wear it, it isn't a charm. But it is a daily reminder that salvation has been given freely by Grace and that I should live my life in Christ.
This is my creed.
I don't deserve to be saved but I hadn't the chance to argue before He did it for me.

First of all, I don't wear this as a decoration, but the victory of the resurrection over death is the hope of all who believe. The cross simply reminds us of the greatest sacrifice ever made.

The cross itself didn't kill the Master. The cross is only a "symbol"; telling you you will never forget what Christ has done for us. Through the cross, He has given us eternal life. We look at the cross to remember what He has done for us. Having someone killed by a knife is hardly any comparison to what Christ has done for us. I wear my cross to "remember" what He HAS done for us.

First off, calling Christ a Christians master is interesting but..... I believe the cross is used as symbol of the ultimate sacrifice, as a reminder of the fact that he died for our sins, not a tool of murder.

THE CROSS UPON WHICH CHRIST DIED WAS ROMAN AND IT IS A PAGAN SYMBOL. THE SYMBOL THAT CHRISTAINS HANG AROUND THEIR NECKS FOR SOME IS ONLY A FASHION STATEMENT AND FOR SOME IT IS A CONSTANT REMINDER FOR WHAT JESUS DID TO SAVE THEM FROM SIN...TO OTHERS IT IS A CONVERSATION PIECE THAT ASSISTS THEM IN WITNESSING TO OTHERS ABOUT GOD AND JESUS. TO SOME IT GIVES PEACE AND COMFORT KNOWING THAT JESUS CONQUERED DEATH ON THE CROSS AND THAT IS WHY IT IS DECOR AND FASHION...
