We don't know enough about your work to be able to offer specific suggestions. Most contests and sites have specialized interests. I recommend looking at a copy of the current Writer's Market, published annually by Writers Digest Books. Most libraries have a copy in the reference section, and those that don't will be able to get you a copy on loan.

Hi there....try The Readers Retreat at www.thereadersretreat.com. They allow new authors to submit work, share ideas and even get paid for short stories. Check it out. And good luck with your writing!

Submit for critic? You could try Forward Motion http://www.fmwriters.com/ or Absolute Write http://www.absolutewrite.com/ . Both have active forums with a lot of people willing and able to critic your work
