Let's just see how this dialog works out shall we?
M:Hey honey, how was your day?
W:Good, I guess worked real hard.
M:What are we gonna do for dinner tonight?
W:I thought I'd make some lasagne.
M:MMM, sounds good but the last time WE tried that we almost burnt the kitchen down, and afterwords we made sandwiches.
W:Anyone can make a sandwich.
M:Exactly.

Some people can't follow cookbooks, so, join a local cooking class together and create a sandwich masterpiece. With chips.

No i would never do so. I think you should, on the contrary, tell her you love her cooking. And to thank her and encourage her in this great cooking, that you bought her new cookbooks so that she can continue making delicious things. That way, she we will be flattered, happy, gain self esteem AND have cookbooks.

I would want to know!
If it is done in a constructive way, don't make fun of me.
What is the big deal?
How mad do you think she'll be in 10 yrs. when she finds out that besides not liking her cooking, you have been making fun about it with your friends ? And you know you will.
If you can't cook learn together.
Better Homes and Garden cookbook with the plaid cover is the best !

If you ever want to have her cook for you again...you better just give encouragement.

Well it depends how bad of a cook she is...if she's really bad then telling her would be a reprieve.

It reminds me of the Trout Almondine...there was so many almonds that you could not taste the trout.

I would tell her because I am a pretty good cook myself

No, don't tell her you don't like her cooking. Tune into the Food Network and then tell her what they just demonstrated sounds FANTASTIC! Then get online, find the recipe for it ... YOU go out and buy the ingredients and offer to help prepare it if she wants help. After a few of those meals, she'll WANT to keep cooking that way. Your job is done.

omg. telling a wife that her cooking isn't that good is one closer step to pay alimony.

much cheaper solution: buy a cookbook and give her as a gift.

Or go in the kitchen and help her out.. Buy some cook books and tell her you want to learn and you could share the experience... thats a good way to get out of it!!!

better make sure she has a good sense of humor LOL
One time i was visiting my mother for dinner , and i complimented her on how good the meatloaf tasted..not greasy like before. she said "your dad cooked it!"
oops
poor woman don't get the "loaf" part...she spreads the meat flat to the edge of the pan...it comes out with an inch of grease on the top. its really gross and even the dog won't eat it. I know my dad goes to the bathroom and spits it out! lol
but we always lie and tell her its all good :-)
I don't have room to talk... I burn everything!
don't crumb on her cooking unless you want to end up cooking for yourself! look up new recipes and ask her to make them for you

When big shirley made that nasty a*ss rabbit pot pie, I stood up, gagged myself till I puked all over the kitchen table, picked up the puke, threw it at her, then told her I would rather eat the corn out of my sh*it. Then I threw a cookbook at her.

Nah, I'm just kiddin. She can't get her big a*ss out of her scooter to cook. This is what i would do, though.

my fiance has always criticized my cooking. At first, it hurt my feelings but he learned to shut up since i threatened never to cook him a meal. Must not be that bad since he eats it and asks for more.
