i mean... if they cover the whole part of the woman's chest, then it's appropriate to call it "censor", but just the nipples? what's up with that? we still see that the boobies are jiggling up and down in full form! the worst thing is putting "star shapes" to cover the nipples. isn't it pretty obvious already? isn't it like the same if one censors a vagina by blurring only the clitoris?

this really make me curious.

its a matter of standards and practices, much like how they rate Movies based on what level of certain word sthe film uses or scenes that it depicts, the wording of the rules as to what can ve seen on TV is such that it is only indecent to display the nipple or in the case of southern territories, pubic hair and the genitals, but should the character be landscaped then you can actuall pan the camera closer to the privates. its all a matter of how the censor reads the letter of the law as it applies to what we can see,

I know that on i think it was Spike TV's beer goggle theatre they aired a soft core skinimax style movie and they blurred the entire chest region, but i know that the plastic surgery shows only blur the nips, possible because as a medical show they can get away w/ showing more of the breast.

In a lot of main stream films that feature bare breasts the actress will use a band aid like product to hide their nipples to prevent accidental viewing. or in some cases when filming on a cold set, they will cover them under their tops to prevent them from altering the line of their shirts.

I DID NOT WRITE THIS!
I REPEAT, I DID NOT WRITE THIS.

We censor nipples because the nipples are the part of the breast we associate most specifically with sex. After all, you can see the form of a breast through a woman's clothes all the time, but most will only see a strange woman's nipples during sex. Also, the nipple is the most sensitive part and a common part of sex play in our culture.

This gives nipples the value of a "sexual asset" which women are expected to protect in public. Consider how you would feel if a strange person saw your genitals (perhaps if you were drunkenly peeing in a parking lot). Why should you care about whether they saw? That is why women care about nipple slips.

I think this is why we give boobed but nipple-less Barbie dolls to little girls, but do not want them to see strip shows: what we are protecting them from is not the parts themselves, but what the exposure of the parts symbolizes. It is exactly like we try to protect children from curse words: it's not the sound, it's what it means to us. Of course, the meanings of parts changes over time, which is why showing some ankle isn't considered racy any more.

vagina and clitoris are not the same thing. the vagina is the hole. the clitoris the...the...thing. right. so no its not the same thing. nipples boobs- whatever. to make it ok. if you were censoring a pu**y- then yes the clitoris- but just a vagina maybe censor out one lip. haha. vaginal censoring. you will always be curious no matter what so get used to it. you dont have one you dont know.
