.. i mean if you are gonna shut off your own home pc...
can i simply close the tabs and shut down?

I find it fairly important to log off. But then I share a computer. I would think if you are using a home computer and no one else uses it that it wouldn't be as important. Especially as you are shutting the computer down. That should terminate any open log ins. But, if you are using a public or sharing a computer - logging off is a good idea.

Although it is not too much harmful without sign-out or logging off, it ensures more safety when you logs off as yahoo re-sets cookies that you are logged off.
If you are not doing it and closing browser, it is also almost same as it removes cookie after some time.
So, its better to shut down the door of home while you goes out !!!

Its better signout or logoff if anyone else is also using the same computer. The login information is generally stored in cookies, so sometimes if u close the window and agian type email URL it automatically logins into account.
you can also do one thing, just delete all cookies from tools tab. This will automatically log off all the accounts which u r logged into!!!

Well if you are on a computer where nobody else if going to be snooping around then I would leave it open all day long if you want to, but if have other nosy people around then you just might want to sign out or log off.

If you sign out it will not allow anyone else to open the browser up again after you and have it auto sign in. That is the main reason for logging out.

As long as your computer is switched off you won't be signed into any sites. So yeah, you can just shut down without signing out.

If you are using a public computer, then you should sign out. Or else you are using your own computer then no need to sign out from yahoo.

it depends on whether ur sharing the comp with others. if u r then its safer n advisable to sign out becos the next person using the comp will mostl likely be able to check ur mails n stuff.
