just don't forget about us, everybody. we still need everyone's help. if you really want to help, come down for mardi gras. people are under the misapprehension that there are crazed homeless people running around with m16's still. nope. we're also not floating around in pirogues spearing alligators for breakfast.

Forgotten about you? We spent billions to fix up the mess and it mostly got wasted. The decent honest citizens seemed to have cleared out because it is so dangerous. I'm not going there. What if it floods again? It really isn't safe. I hope everything works out but I would warn others not to go there.

You are correct. The word "incompetence" keeps coming to my mind whenever I think about the way the whole situation was handled.
Why not write up a news stories about some successes and send them off to various newspapers. Wikipedia has a news section which anyone can submit to, if the papers don't want the story, put it there. Also get everyone to start lobbying their local politicians. Also, lobby the local untilites companies. Is the water supply and sewage systems working in all areas? Ask around, then ask the companies what they are doing and publish the results. Are the phones working, if not how about getting cellphones provided to the affected areas at discount rates. Again, publish the results. Is the gas and electricity working?
Lastly, get hold of the politicians who are standing for election and ask them what they did during the hurricane and since then. Don't vote on their promises, vote on their actions.

Nobody has forgotten, and I think those alligator-spearing guys have made their way over here to Texas ! We are still dealing with Rita efforts. Everybody just has to move on. People in New York are a perfect example. And if it's too hard to rebuild and live there, you could leave. A lot of people left here too. Lives were torn apart.

LIKE KANYE WEST SAID "GEORGE BUSH DOESNT LIKE BLACK PEOPLE". THIS IS SO TRUE AND YOU CAN SEE IT WHEN YOU LOOK AT NEW ORLEANS. IT IS SUCH A SAD THING WHAT HAPPENED THERE AND AN EVEN MORE SAD THING THAT OUR OWN COUNTRY DID NOTHING TO PREVENT IT OR TO EVEN MAKE UP FOR NOT BEING ABLE TO PREVENT IT. WHEN THE TSUNAMI HIT, WAY OVER THERE, WHEREVER THAT WAS....AS BAD AS THAT WAS, IT SEEMED LIKE EVERYTHING WAS GETTING ON ITS WAY TO NORMAL THE VERY NEXT DAY! WHAT THE HELL IS BUSH'S EXCUSE FOR THIS? PLAIN AND SIMPLE, HE DOESNT CARE ABOUT NEW ORLEANS BECAUSE IT IS A PREDOMINATELY BLACK REGION. IF THEY WERE ALL WHITE PEOPLE, THAT PLACE WOULD BE SPARKLING BY NOW. OUR GOVERNMENT SUCKS!! ITS SELFISH, GREEDY AND RACIST!!!!!!!!! THANX TO OUR OH SO "WONDERFUL" (NOT!!!!!) PRESIDENT. THIS WHOLE COUNTRY IS RIGGED TO SATISFY THE BUSH FAMILY. ITS A SAD SAD THING. I LOVE AMERICA, BUT I HATE OUR FAKE *** GOVERNMENT!
