It all depends on what the consumer is looking for and let me just add that the Playstation 3 is not even out yet so no one except Sony can let you know how good it is. I think as of right now the console that has the edge in the next-gen war is the XBOX360 mainly because it's been out for about a year now and its given the game developers time to work with the graphics. There are more than 100 games out for it already which is kind of fixing the problem of the first XBOX and with such exclusives as "Gears Of War" and "Halo 3" you can't really go wrong. If you want to talk about graphics just look at the "Gears of War" trailer or the "Lost Planet" trailer and you too would be impressed. The online features are pretty damn cool, I love the fact that you can download any demo you want and the XBOX Live Arcade is awesome with classic games coming out for it every month. Yeah you have to pay about $50 to $60 bucks a year but if you can afford a $400 console than it really is no biggie. The PS3 however does have many standard features that the 360 sells seperately. If you actually add up all the cost of the features on the 360 with those of the PS3 you will see that the PS3 is actually cheaper at its $600 price. For example the PS3 ($600 pack) comes with a Blu-Ray player built in, integrated wireless, and a 60 gb hard drive and does'nt charge for online game play. The 360 ($400 premium pack) comes with a 20gb hard drive, you can buy another 20gb HD for $100, the wireless option for networking costs another $100, HD-DVD Drive is $200, and XBOX Live Gold costs $50 to $60 a year. I like that the 360 gives you the options to have the features rather than making you buy them like the PS3. I personally don't want to restart my DVD library and make a change to next-gen dvd players and even with all the additional expenses for the 360 I would still take it because quite frankly it's proved itself.

The PS3 is not a great thing for games. But great for everything else! What I mean by not good for games is that every PS series has never lasted(sony personal games, not "for all systems" games).
Now, we all know about Halo 3 coming out, this game series has lasted for 6 years. The XBOX 360 has all that stuff(espessically with Microsoft making it, since both THE XBOX 360 and PC have close to the same stuff) The XBOX 360 would be good for everything.
Now about the Wii.......
EDIT: Oh and the price for the PS3 IS SO UNREASONABLE! With only a few of them coming out.
PS3: $650
XBOX 360: $399

Well the PS3 isn't available over here yet. But all the reviews coming out of gaming conventiosn suggest that the PS3 is far more powerful. Has better graphics, sound and everything. The good thing about Xbox360 is that you can play other games apart from Microsoft this time, which can only be good.
From listening to 'expert' opinions I would suggest PS3 though

They are both over priced. And I think really depends on how many games you have now or what systems you own. There have not really been any huge games out yet for 360 even though they are probably just waiting for PS3 to come out before they come out with some good games. But the alot of the games for 360 have alot of flaws in them and the games are shipped out anyway.

I would have to say that PS3 will be better, because Microsoft is now aiming their gaming might at the PC rather than 360.
