Hi have you tried
Face party = This is free, and has a chat room
Face-box = This is free and receive and send email
My space = The same as face box
Yahoo chat = This is chat but the good thing about this is that you can check there profiles out so you can see who you are talking too.
Meetic = You pay for this but its not badly priced = has a chat room and also can receive and send emails.
Google search = This will help you find loads more
