Flies fly because it is easier to find a mate, find food, lay eggs in it and then find some more food.

Some flies do not fly. There are a group of flies, I think on a windy island somewhere, that have vestibule (useless) wings; flying in a very windy environment decreases their chances of finding a mate and procreating.

Hope this helps

What I want to know is why do the angels keep pushing the Sun,moon and stars around the world. Oh wait, God told 'em to. But why? Is ham a different world for nail .... is that why it is called a hammer, or do they beat up pigs with them too?

They are compelled by their nervous system to flap their wings which create lift greater than the weight of their body. and their lift to drag ratio is greater than one, so they can fly foreward.
