What I mean is in Missouri they are making it illegal to smoke in a "smoking area" on hospital property. (any hospital in MO) The smoking areas use to be out of common areas, where people could not inhale 2nd hand smoke. And as far as the smell, some people say that the smell of cigarette smoke on clothing is harmful to others health..that is why I mentioned perfumes being offensive. So, is it fair to make it illegal to smoke a legal substance in smoking areas on hospital property (out of common areas) when you pay to either be in the hospital, or one of your loved one's are paying for services?

cigarettes are still legal and if the government can collect tax on the sale of them then smokers are entitled to a smoking area including government property.

I totally agree with you, it stressful enough to have a loved one in the hospital let alone being told now you can not smoke. I am seeing another prohibition coming about, which is going to lead to same thing that the first prohibition did. Bootlegging and more crimes. It amazes me at how people can do all studies on this and that but refuse to remember those that do not learn from history are doomed to repeat them. I would like to see a more harsh crack down on acohol. They have raisesd the price of cigarrettes way more than percentage of acohol. I have my own theory on this... what is at every governmental type of meeting. However, seeing some smokers I would have to say that some of them out there has gave all of us a bad name. You know the ones that will pick up your new born with a cigarrette in their mouth. I am not even talking about the smoke impact but what if they drop the cig on the baby... burning them. If you can't tell I am fustrated along with you.

I am thinking could be wrong that he is meaning outside of the hospital, on the grounds still though. I could be wrong, I totally agree with not being able to walk through your nearest c store with a smoke in your mouth. However, if it is outside and seperated from others than I don't.

Let it go. We smokers know what it does. Growing up in Chicago I was amazed when I moved to KY that I could smoke while shopping. That doesn't happen here in IL. I don't even smoke in my own house. Now if you were on a sidewalk that your tax dollars paid for I'd say your rights were violated. Being inside the hospital no. They are a private company and as such can decide their own smoking policies.

Smoking does no longer fall below "the pursuit of happiness" on account that's adverse to different persons's well being. What you do to your self is variety of your organization (with of course some exceptions). Alcohol basically detroys different peoples lives whilst it gets uncontrolled, which the state can't regulate (how lots you in my view drink). yet they might administration you hurting different persons by way of banning smoking in specific components. Now, making it unlawful to smoking in a delegated smoking section sounds retarded, via fact the section is specified for smoking. That i could boost to well being center administration approximately. that's the factor of specified components: to supply you a place TOO smoke, via fact it enables relieve some rigidity, which hospitals are known to reason.

Yes, it is unfair. I have smelled somethings in the hospitals that are way worse than cigarette smoke that need to be banned.
