I want to start a gay club at my college that focuses on showing lgbtq and straight people that gay people are a part of society just like everyone else. My aim is to interact with other clubs such as BSU, Hispanic Pride, Campus Crusade, in coordinating events and activates that shows not only what the culture has done as a hole, but what the gay people in that culture have done. So any ideas?

"Ask a gay night" where you have a panel of lgbt people and anyone can come and ask questions

"What would you do for a Klondike bar" (it was always fun) with truth or dare cards and if you complete it you get one of the ice creams

"Movie Night" where you showcase a good lgbt movie, like "But I'm a Cheerleader"

Go out to Coffee places and talk, weekly, or a bookstore with a coffee bar.

As far as working with other clubs, hold a diversity day with passports where every table stamps them and if you get all the stamps you get a prize at the end, like pizza or something.

That's a swell aim you got there. Nice idea too! Very brave of you to start it all. I suggest that on the official day that you start your club, you can hold a forum about LGBT discrimination and why everyone shouldn't look down on LGBT. You should find a speaker who's very convincing. If you want to interact with Campus Crusade, you can hold activities such as musical camp or such. I do believe that a lot of gay people sing well. So, your gay club members can act as the music teachers of Christian songs! The main thing is that you should focus your aim on making a positive difference in your campus. God Bless on your plans!

Some good ideas here!

A local lgbt group collects food and warm mittens/coats and stuff that they donate to a food pantry I'm involved in. Oddly enough they came to me after another charity turned them down for being gay....weird, huh?

I love the idea of getting a passport stamped at a diversity day.

since the holiday season is soon upon us, perhaps a food drive or toy drive or coat drive, involving all groups with your organization at the helm?
