Ok you are a young woman and pregnant out of wedlock
in the times of the Old Testament. Considering people were stoned to death for such an act, what would be the craziest story you could tell the ignorant masses to keep them from killing you.

To that first answer, I think somebody already thought of that one, some girl named Mary.
I think it would have been easier to be unwed and pregnant in the Old Testament times than in Puritan America times. Women were nothing in Old Testament times and were raped all the time, so rape would not be suspect if you said that, but in America Puritans were some mean wicked people and not forgiving of anything and times were changed so women were not raped as openly and probably could not get away with that excuse. Look at Hester Prine in the Scarlett Letter, she was basically raped but nobody believed her at first. She was ridiculed and outcast. That is when they stoned women. I will take Old Testament people over Puritans any time.

Depends where. Also, it's not necessarily true that such women were stoned. In Jewish law, a couple is married once they have sex. So she would be legally married at that point, to whoever boffed her.

I would pin it on Solomon.He had a 1000 wives and so many concubines he wouldnt know if it was his or not.And being king he wouldnt allow me to be stoned to death!Bingo!!
