A girl is walking along, nice day and she finds a photograph. then a person is behind her who is the person in the photograph which was taken 45 years ago. the person doesnt know how she got there and.....

A spirit has been whispering in the girls ear as she sleeps to find an old house that runs along the side of a park with giant broken swings and a closed down drive in across the street.
She finds the location and as she walks along the photo flutters from the open window of the aged and crumbling home.
She collects the photo from the ground and walks towards the building. A breeze picks up, leaves and white flakes of dried paint turn them selves into a frenzied whirl wind.
From the centre of the whirl wind the lady can be seen. She reaches her hand out, it is made up of the flecks of paint from her old home. The girl steps forward and reaches out and takes the crackling hand. The old lady steps through. As she clears the threshold of leaves they drop silently to the earth. And the girl feels a jolt of extreme pain as the old lady tears the childs soul from her.

Alzheimers. The older person is behind the girl at the bus stop. The old woman is in a home, where her husband of 56 years has been visiting. He dropped the photo when he went to get the bus home. The picture is from years earlier, but the girl can tell it's the same person because of her lively eyes and quick smile.

this has something to do with either time transportation or death, you choose. I say go for the creepiest scenario. So many options.
maybe the girl who picked it up is the one in the photo but instead of 45 years "ago" it was taken 45 years into the future and she is being visited by herself from the future, yet either of them know they are the same person but there is a very urgent message to be given to her by her future. You decide.

And there is a girl in the photo that resembles the girl. The older person looks at the girl 1st because he/she thinks she may be related. They talk & find out this person is related to the girl.
But not by blood. The girl is spawned by the older person's son's sperm donation. The donor's sperm was used by his Sister unknowingly.
They don't find all of this out right away. This is buried in the plot.
And the reader must infer this through the telling/ reading.

The girl is the person's grand daughter and the person had been in Vietcong married a local girl and the girl could not recognize the person and takes him to show him to the mom and the mom gets the fright of her life time to have a look a like who is her husband's father and the story can go on to win an Oscar. The girl turns around, sees the person tells them that they must have dropped their picture. The person then stalks the girl for about 30 years and the person dies, finding nothing out. Apart from one thing, the girl has grown up to like identical to the woman in the photo.(which she has kept stashed away in a dusty drawer.)
I think as it is a short story you should have a strange twist to your story right at the end.

Was the girl transported back 45 years, or was the person propelled forward?
Present day photograph? Present day walk?
It makes a difference in the telling...

then it dawned on her that it was a mirror that she had picked up-the first time in 45 yr.s she had seen her self & the person behind her was ??????? her son whom she sees every day-you take it from thar
