Check with your Video card specification how much memory it contains. Also check if it uses a share memory- that is it is using the computer RAM or not. Finally check if you have may be insufficient RAM in your computer for dealing with the application you need (are you editing, or running video/DVD ?)

Is this a screen message or just a small message inside a program window? Maybe you are using a program to play multimedia (sound or video) through your Internet connection. If your connection speed is not very fast, you will get that message. Sometimes you can change the buffer size of the program and reduce your chance of getting the hangup. But sometimes you can't make much progress if the connection speed is just too slow.
