My mother was abused by her uncle and held the secret, the result was that my oldest sister was abused by the same uncle...
Secrets are not always the best, openess and honesty usually are...

If you know it's going to devastate your family then you need to just keep that in mind that it will and never ever tell anyone outside of the family either or they might slip up and tell them. So, remember to zip the lips. Good luck!!

unless the secret is going to eventually hurt your family or friends then keeping it to yourself will do no harm. if its worrying you enough that you feel with devastate your family then you need to tell them. it will only plague your conscious while you hold inside your mind.

if there is a secret that would devastate your whole family, keep it a secret. and NEVER EVER EVER tell ANYONE what the secret is. NEVER to ANYONE!!!!!!!!!

first of all if u know very well that it will devastate your family... better forget what u know... forget it in a sense of stop thinking about it.. and avoid talking about it... maybe hard but its for ur family right?

incest hurts more than the child experiencing it....you will not have been the only victim,look around...any cousins,brothers or sisters or even neighborhood kids who grew up with you/near you,act same way...withdrawn,unable to commit to relationships...we all carry our childhoods with us,for some it's like a badge of courage,a medal of honor,cos we survived.
