Do I really have to endure fireworks every night for hours for the next three weeks, why dont you use them on the 5th of November.

I agree. It's not just kept for November 5th anymore. There are fireworks going off for days after. People with nervous animals must despair.

If at all? I may be old-fashioned but a bigger waste of money is hard to find in celebratory terms. I suspect the government makes a tidy sum from the manufacture of these legal explosives.The whole concept of Guy Fawkes night or Bonfire night has always been a puzzle to me. It should be banned, and instead if people would like to celebrate anything on this day, they could hold a fancy dress or theme party, in the warmth and safety of their home, and donate what they would have spent on fireworks to their local hospital or animal welfare. It would then compensate these worthy causes for the disruption and service they have provided towards victims of this ridiculous tradition.

well fireworks aren't just used to celebrate the 5th of november anymore, there are people out there celebrating festivals such as Diwali and Eid ... some people may not be able to celebrate on the actual day so they find an alternative day ... so if you don't want them complaining about you celebrating the 5th of november with fireworks then you shouldn't complain about their celebrations
