It is human nature to think that your group has been persecuted more than any other group of people. It's like some great big pity contest.
The Americans with 9-11
The English with June 6 th subway bombings
The American Indians with Manifest Destiny
The Jews the Holocaust
The Armenian young Turk genocide 1911
The Greeks under Turkish occupation
The Chinese under Japan occupation
The Icelandic people under Danish rule
The Christians in Eypt
The list goes on an on....
All these events are horrible. All these people have suffered a great deal. However everyone is in a contest to gather the most pity.

I would think it to be the most traumatic for America, I remember being in 6th grade and watching it live on tv and crying and not knowing what the hell was happening to the world. And even days after that I was afraid of it happening again, even going on airplanes it's still scary to think it can still happen and that terrorist's are still trying.
I think live footage also plays a difference, I remember watching it in school because our teachers didn't know anything of what was happening and all we saw was the first tower and then we saw the 2nd tower with the plane. That was probably the most saddening thing to see. :/ I hate even thinking about it.

1.Because it happened to the greatest city in the world
2.It makes people insecure about air travel
3.Because the twin towers were one of the tallest skyscrapers in the world.
4.the fact that 4 different airplanes with about 150 people on each had to go through that and so many people were killed in and around the towers and the Pentagon.
5.That now people on airplanes are now thinking they're just in for the ride not knowing wether they're going to make it to their destanation.
