The Japanese were given restitution because they were actually in camps. No black person alive today was ever a slave.
If they were to be given compensation I'm sure everyone can go back and find some injusitice done to their people and everyone should get something. That sounds like a good idea, let's do it.

I believe that restitution should be granted to those that were personally held in slavery by those that actually held them in slavery.
To say that a restitution is owed to people that were not actually victims of the condition is absurd.
Their were Irish and Scots held in slavery also, i don't expect, nor feel i deserve restitution for something that I was not personally involved in. At any rate, who would I "sue" over it. None of the people responsible are alive anyway.
And your feeling that you deserve a thank you for the civil war, just as silly. Enough said!

I don't care about reparations. I just want everyone to have a fair chance. We can't change the past and I wasn't there when slavery was in existence. I don't hold it against the U.S. or any White people alive today because none of them have ever owned slaves. We were promised 40 acres and a mule. If the government wants to give me that, I'll accept it. But paying money in reparations because of slavery is just going to create more animosity than there is already.

Why do you deserve it? What did you do Personally?? that's the same questions we are asked when the word restitution or 40 acres and a mule come up....lets put it like this..if I ever get restitution...you can have 20 acres and some a.s.s.....i mean half a mule.

LOL, well then, I think the Indians should get their land back since the white man stole it from them. I'm 1/8 Cheerokee so I would be fine with a Hallmark card as well :) .

I think black people should get compensation for slavery, when we Japanese were brought out of the concentration camps in America, we were compensated with money. And no, you can't have a Hallmark card, you didn't do anything.
