Just do a little bit of study on this subject every day. Keep your study sessions short (around 20-30 minutes). Try to balance self-discipline with fun activities. If it is at all possible, it might help to find at least some aspects of the class that you enjoy. This gives you a chance to intersperse annoying material with enjoyable material.

It depends on the subject. With language, is pairing the terms with like vocabulary terms and defining them.

Math and sciences, is knowing the formulas, which means just doing example after example.

For history, poli sci and the such - it's just doing the reading and going to class. Being able to apply what you learned in class and giving a clear example of it. ie. game theory: the arms race between india and pakistan
