If it has progressed past constant pain... go to a doctor. That means it could have progressed further up the urinary system. I am a firm believer in cranberry pills. Follow directions with it (most cranberry juices out there have sugar in them which can aggrevate the situation, bacteria love the sugar!)... which is normally 3x a day. Lots of water too, not juice, not soda pop, water! Once you feel the pain which you will recognize, start on the regimen of the pills and avoid the doctor. (I have for over 6 years!) A $6 bottle of pills is a lot cheaper than the doctor!

Drinking cranberry juice might help you from getting one, but once you have it, you need an antibiotic. Don't waste time with home remedies. A friend of mine wouldn't see a doctor---she thought she could clear it up with just cranberry juice and yogurt. It spread to her kidneys, and she was miserable.
So get to the doctor and get the medication so you can start feeling better!

Hi there! I'm so sorry that you are going through this. It can be very painful and uncomfortable. I have had a few myself over the years. Your best bet for a cure would likely be antibiotics, but here is some information on home remedies. I hope that you will be feeling better soon.

You can do things to help PREVENT a UTI, but once you believe that you have one you need to be tested and treated. You will need antibiotics. And, if you are going in for testing don't take anything like AZO, an over the counter UTI medication it will make diagnosing you difficult.

Plenty of fluids- esp cranberry juice.
Over the counter reazo or azo- (other names for pyridium) can ease burning. It is a urinary antiseptic not an antibiotic. it will turn urine bright yellow or orange.
If symptoms remain , call your MD or provider
