Try defraging your computer (in the system tool on the menu) it might take awhile, but will help make the comp. run better. Also try system clean up, in the same part of the startup menu. I also noticed after I installed Pets that it takes a bit longer to load. Not sure why. I guess its just a huge expansion.

The sims2 is a large game which takes up a lot of resources and the more stuff you have on it, like downloaded content, the more it will take to load. Mine actually takes 16 mis. to load I timed it the other day cause I was curious . I have lots of custom content.

The Sims 2 requires ALOT of space on your computer. I had to remove somethings before I could use it. Check out your files and get rid of anything you don't need, this could help it run faster.

your comp must be slow and it takes a minute for everything to load expecially if you have the expansion packs. put it shouldnt take more than a min if your comp is newer
