Judging by the amount of discussion going on about this same problem your having at the Apple Support discussions, you are not the only one. Give Apple a call.

Not all cd and dvd drives support every format available. Sometimes the material of the cds make difference. Especially powerbooks and macbooks are very picky when it comes to playing cds.
If you have your own recorded cds and you are getting ejects for the smae brand/type of cds, try to use different brand/type. I bet the cds you have are not competable. You can check the mfr website for competable systems or by googling the model number.
Hope that helps.

Well, it's obvious that your new MacBook just doesn't have the same taste in music as you! But, don't worry, once you get to know each other a little better it may just come around. Meanwhile though, you say it did play ONE of your cds. It must've liked that one, so play more like that one! Good Luck! :-)

Have a better weekend than my answer ;-)

I love my macbook, but it's still a initial release. If you just got it go to your local apple store and talk to a genius.

But before you do would you mind stating the format of your CD (rom or dvd?) and did you get the combo or super drive? (the 1.86ghz model or the 2.0ghz one?)
