Ummm. This seems a bit strange, but usually the penis goes between the teeth, and braces are on top of the teeth. Perhaps she was trying something for added stimulation.
At any rate, be open and honest with her. You like the oral, but she's got to be a little more careful. You also might want to think about getting circumcised. With the extra skin and folds, you are more prone to infection and plain penis crud.

just tell her nicely, you have two negatives in that being uncircumcised and her have braces. I used to have braces and i had done the same thing to my boyfriend at the time and he was uincircumsized. it's okay you just have to make sure that she knows that it isn't her fault. **** happens you know.

Telling her won't be mean as long as you do it in a nice way. She would want to know and I am sure she would tell you if you hurt her in some way.
