I just turned 18 in sept. and I'm pregnant I stayed in school up until this last week and I'm 5months I am now on home study. If you have morning sickness its not that great, but it does give you something to do other than sit at home and watch TV, because I know that's what I would have been doing, haha And its defiantly important to get a high school diploma! Good luck and congrats!

I found out I was pregnant about half a month into my senior year. I went to school full time the fall semester and then part time spring and working the other part of the day. I'm now a sophomore in college. I attend full-time and so does her father. It's the condition of our respective parents assisting us in anyway. My advice is stay in school, work as hard as you can, be the best you can be. You're not the only one depending on your future success anymore.

I'm not a teen anymore but I was when I got pregnant. Yes I attended while I was pregnant but was no longer going after I had my daughter. I busted my butt to be done with classes in January instead of May. I Finished all but 1 class by December, Finished my last class in January, had my daughter in April, then graduated in June.

I was a 17 yr-old high school senior -- I was 18 when i had my son -- i went to school to entire time and had my son three days after walking down the isle on my graduation day. It may be hard but women r the stronger sex regardless of what anyone else says -- we can multi-task and accomplish anything.

I had my first child at 17.. I was a senior in High School.. I attended while I was pregnant had my daughter in October of my senior year and continued to attend after graduating with my class...
I attended a Cyesis program (special program for the pregnant teen within the public school program) while pregnant, returning to my regular high school at the beginning of the semester following my daughters birth..
Special programs within the curriculum at cyesis were parenting classes, nutrition classes, as well as the regular classes offered at any high school....
Many public schools have a cyesis program within thier district... I would urge any pregnant teen to look into the program... No one looks at you weird there as they do at regular High School, you are more able to concentrate on what's best for both you and you baby without the stares, whispers, and very rude comments...
With the cirriculum tailored to include parenting classes it helps prepare teen mothers for things like, "What do you do if the baby is fussy for no apparent reason?" "How do you change a diaper?" "How often and how much should the baby be eating?" "What can I expect when I go into labor, how do I know I am in labor?" "What do I do if I feel I am at the end of my rope and feel like I can't go on, who can I call for nonjudgemental help?" "Is it normal that my baby does X?" etc...
Alot of teen mothers have very little or no support from family or friends, Cyesis gives these teens the support netwrok that can anser questions and help guide them to make the best choices in parenting thier child...
When I attended there was daycare on a sliding scale payment plan on site during school hours... Many of the teenage mothers were able to choose breastfeeding over bottle feding because they were able to spend thier lunch hour, and 20 minute morning and afternoon breaks breastfeeding in the daycare center... The school was housed in a very small building reducing the passing periods from the normal 10 minutes to 5 allowing us to have the morning and afternoon breaks which allowed breastfeeding/bottle feeding time..
With a staff of all women, all of whom had children, all of whom specially requested to work at Cyesis, the enviroment was very conducive to both education in the traditional sense and educating us to be good mothers to our children...
I encourage any teen who is pregnant to look into a Cyesis program in thier area, It made what could have been an unbearable pregnancy in public school with taunts, pushing, rude comments, etc (all of which I heard about from girls who didn't enter Cyesis until thier pregnancies showed) into an experience I will treasure all of my life..
I am and will always be grateful to the staff of Cyesis for helping me to make the best of a situation that was not ideal, but which needed to be dealt with because it was there and there was no turning back...
Thanks to the Staff of Cyesis East in Phoenix Arizona in 1987-1988 you ladies are remarkable and deserve applause for the work you do above and beyond being educators and staff, you are mentors, friends, a shoulder to cry on when the world is falling down, a boost up when needed, and extraordinary women full of love and compassion for girls in a time they need it most... Thanks Diane...
