If you have been non-active with the account, I am not sure whether the money is still there. The account might just be written-off by the bank for various reasons dictated by them.

It will almost defiinately have been closed.

I opened one in 2000 and remember reading the passbook notes which stated that if the balance was at or below £5 with no activity for one year then the account would be closed.

I closed the account shortly after this and got one with a 'normal' bank.

Your account may have been closed.If not,you would still be worth a whole 50p,as there is no interest paid on savings of less than £1.Sorry,but you'll have to call off the party!

Might not even be there - banks were allowed to write off small balances because the admin cost too much.
Even if it is there it still won't be worth much -a couple of quid maybe

the bank wont close your account with out getting in contact with you first, they would send you a letter, about your account.

you will have to send your book back to them, get there address from th post office lol.
