Absolutely. I've visited Singapore at least six times. Its culture is cobbled together from Asian and Western influences, both ancient and modern, but the result is something completely unique. And the funny thing is that while capitalism in America has more often than not served to divide society into different classes based on distribution of money, in Singapore, capitalism is actually a positive influence that fosters unity and social harmony. Numerous cultures, ethnicities and religions all living side by side in almost absolute peace all because they're united in their common cause to make money and live the good life! It's really an amazing place. And the laws in Singapore are rather unique as well. For your research, be sure to check out Raffles, the Merlion, the National Botanical Gardens, British influences, etc. Good luck.

Singapore's culture is encapsulated in the term 'Singapore Inc' - it operates more like a company than a nation.

Yes it is unique, I've been there once many years ago but I remember it being very clean, no graffiti on their trains, and when crossing in a crosswalk the sounds of birds would chirp when it was time to walk across.
Beautiful place and beautiful people...good luck with your paper!!
PS. I heard that chewing gum is outlawed there but can't say for sure.

Yes, it has to. Every society will eventually develop its own idiosyncratic set of beliefs, mentality, slang, attitude, and Singapore is no different.
