Because we can afford too. Look what this nation has accomplished the last 200 hundred years. We're such a laughing stock every Tom **** and Harry want to come in illegally and reap the benefits. Go figure...

First you should realize that there is not a government in any country including the United States that actually represents all of the people who live there. Assuming otherwise is ignorant. America has problems, but so does every other country. I can't imagine any problems that serious that affect so many people would actually be a source of laughter for other countries. That is a strange reaction.
The rest of the world has always referred to the United States as "The Land of Opportunity" (or the great satan) we are now made up of people from all the countries of the world, without exception, including your country. Is your country so diversified? In the name of freedom and opportunity, do people risk their lives and lose their families to make it from all parts of the world over the border into your country?
All things being equal, I guess I have to ask the same question of you: Since the U.S. Government is screwing up, why on earth are YOU allowing this to happen? You have the same power to change things as any ordinary citizen of the United States. Do you have any suggestions for us idiots? Please send them if you can stop laughing long enough.

Well aren't you just the pot calling the kettle black, You are talking about us being pompous, while your tone is just condescending. Why on earth would we allow this to happen.... i don't know, because that's what happens in every country, there are disagreements about where things are going politically. The United States has three hundred million citizens, you can't generalize an entire country off of one political party's agenda. I mean, only half of Americans voted in the presidential election, and only half of that half voted for Bush. So what about the other 74% of America? Seriously lady, and come on, as though the United States is the only prideful country in the world. Hello Iran, France, England, Germany.... everyone thinks highly of their country in comparison to others, really. (eye roll)
As well, the Unites States does have blood on its hands, but what about England and Imperialism and colonization! What about Europe and the Disaster that we call Africa! Where is the responsibility of all the other world powers. I am so sick of self righteous speeches from outsiders, seriously....

You can ask the same of almost every other nation in the world. You can ask anyone from any country which country and most will say their country is the best. that is beause of pride. something we are raised with. and its easy to ask a question like yours, but its difficult to understand the mentality behind the average american. So, while it is easy for you to ask such a mindless question, is it not as easy for you to understand how people here can mindlessly accept everything? Think of Saudi Arabia ...... now they use fear to control the public, darling.. public beheadings... and did you know that you can in no way become a saudi, unless you are born into it. They thing they are far superior and they use fear in much more extreme terms. why dont you concentrate on them? they have as much affect on you as the US... with the oil and all

Americans are ignorant, yet you post this political question in the entertainment category? Hmmmm.....
But to answer your question, Americans allow it to happen because that's the way our system works. We get to fix it each time we have elections.
If you're curious as to why we don't fix it TODAY, that would be because that would require a revolution, which would involve me getting shot by troops, which would slightly ruin my day.
Don't worry though, the more the scumbag politicians screw things up, the faster Americans will get sick of them and put them out to pasture.
But yeah, all things considered, I still say America rules, and I've travelled to, and lived in, alot of different countries.

Who runs governments and who the real people are, are two separate issues.
Be like saying all those in the UK are just like Tony Blair or all those in North Korea are like that dictator.
Don't judge the masses by the ignorance of a few.
Our ignorant leaders got into power by deception, lying and fudging the voting out come. We would impeach him (our process to remove a president by the people) but then our vice president would then be in charge.....and he's worse. So the masses here in the USA figure.....well we only have 2 more years of this dim wit in office so best course is just to leave things be but not let him get to out of hand.

And when did I say that i didn't care about the troops there? of COURSE i care about the troops that are now fighting in Iraq, they are all risking their lives in Iraq for us. I was just saying you shouldn't say Bush is a bad president if you don't even know all the details! We are the greatest nation in the world because we are awesomer than your butt.

Well, the US is now the only superpower in the world. So I suppose that gives us a lot of ... .power. But I think we are very susceptible to terrorism which is what we are so afraid of. We have a huge weak link though. Oil. We use 25% of the WORLD'S oil to power our country. Blame it on the citizens of the US. They commute an average of 40 miles a day usually in gas guzzling SUVs or pickup trucks. This extreme gas guzzling makes us totally dependent on terrorist harboring nations. The average citizen just living his life doesnt think about this because the oil companies have designed it this way through decades of political manipulation. The US is desperate to keep the oil flowing. Without it we will die. That is why we are so desperate to bully the rest of the world. We are addicted to oil and we need our fix bad!

We're not the greatest nation, just a free one.....kinda. Bush is a dumbass, money controls politicians, and the poor don't vote because they're wise enough to know that nobody cares.
