It sounds like you are trying to make a point that you already have an answer to. It is a great concept of being treated equally, unfortunately that is all it is. What do you mean by equally? In regards to politics, race, employment, this could mean several different things. I have found that the people who say they want to be treated equally are usually the most immoral discriminate people I have met. This is usually in the form of racial discrimination. In short, equality is a great idea but I don't think it really exists. There is no way to form a system of checks and balances to appease all our egos.

I don't think you need to ask, “more equal than whom" because at that point you know the context of the conversation. I agree with SFORCE973 answer. Equality is a nice word, but it doesn't exist, because life is not fair. Human forms of governments like communism have tried to make everyone equal, but have failed. Equality is hard to reach, because not everybody is at the same level to deserve it. Women cannot be equal to men physically or emotionally. We are different. Equality is a very general issue and it has to be dealt within context.

No. Everyone should be treated equally. Everyone has the right to pursue their own happiness. (Heard of the thing called the constitution lately?)...All rights are equal...The right to pursue life, liberty, and happiness...Some people might be born with the better aptitude for math than others, but those less gifted in math, might offer a different good to society. There is still value..it might not be equal to thiers at the same time, for example, when looking for an accountant, the person who is good at math might make a great accountant...but the artist who is great at web design would offer a differenent value in art...

Equal is determined by the two people interacting...The value to the person receiving service is equal to the one providing it. If the person in need of service values a pretty website more than accounting services, is their decision, as paid in economic payment.

No.

Your question has a wrong assumption. We are all stuck on this earth together and we are all one.

Science teaches presently that if a species mates with others and a viable offspring is produced, then they are one species. Perhaps the Nazis believed in lesser men, but the truth is should any human on this planet mate with another human of the opposite sex, a viable offspring will be produced. Thus we are all one. Even the Federal Government Census Borough is having to realize that race is simply a human construct, not reality.

We are all here to learn to do good. You can't be doing good if you are not treating all as one. It all boils down to:
1. Love God. God Loves you.
2. Do good as doing good is good for you.
3. When you die, believe you will go to heaven; and you will.

The rest is silliness. You have heard young children try and explain things, and you smiled. So too is most of what society is to God. Religion, as Jimmy Buffet sings, is in the hands of some crazy-*** people.

Live long and prosper, as Spook suggests. And when you die, go to Heaven.

I'll see you there.

George.

I'm not sure what your asking but I am going to say what I think your talking about
basically when people say they want to more equal it depends on who the person is women want to be more equal to men in the workforce

minorities want to be treated just like non minorties

it depends on the situation and unfortuantly most people dont understand what some go through

I would sure like to be treated equally and get a job. I'm 57 and I'm having a heck of a time. Looks like my degree is a bit of a waste...but you'd say that too if you'd been unemployed for 4 years.

There's no such thing as equality because there's always someone out there that's better than you at something or other, but all that extremely optimistic crap aside, yes, that second question SHOULD be asked in response.

Sure.

Cause when they say "more equally", it just means they want to be treated better.

There's no such thing as "more equal".

I don't remember learning a "more equal" sign in Algebra.

Basically, we're talking about someone wanting a right that others don't.

I'm heterosexual. I had the opportunity to marry anyone I wanted. I found someone of the opposite sex to marry.

Homosexual have the same rights I do. They can marry anyone they want -- of the opposite sex.

Even though, on the surface, we appear to have the same rights, we don't.
