Of course she is upset or jealous. If the situation was reversed you would probably feel the same way. Try including her in the activitys with your new friend. You will probably all three end up getting along great. She just feels left out and less important to you. You just need to let her know you will always be b/f/f.

Well perhpas she is a little jealous or feels left out. Try to include her into things with all three of you. Put yourself in her position and think of how you would feel. Although to you it seems like she is blowing it all out of proportion, in her eyes she isnt. As her best friend, try to listen and not get defensive. Explain to her that you weren't trying to ditch her. true, you are able to have more than one best friend, but lets be realistic, theres only one person who you can tell everything to. Lend her a shoulder and an ear and make things right. If you don't you will regret it.

well, she is jealous that you started hanging out with someone else. some people cant really adapt to that. try to talk some sense into her and tell her that you're not ditching her. you're just making new friends. and you could also ask her why she doesnt like carly. make sure she doesnt give you an answer like "because she is taking you away from me." she has to really have a good answer.

i know how this feels because when i was in 7th grade me and a girl named latiyfa were best friends. (we only knew eachother for a year but still we spent all our time together) Theres a rec. center called PAL and at the beginning of 8th we would go there after school most days. But then she met a girl named Beyonte and they were the best of friends too. The thing is Beyonte would be mean to me and Tefa would act like that was her best friend. The same thing happened in reverse and I got closer to some of my other friends.
We arent best friends anymore and her and beyonte dont even really talk anymore. i lost her friendship because i felt ignored, but i wasnt jealous. i felt like she didnt like me anymore and was being mean.
The point is talk to her, dont argue.
In person too, and tell her that you can have more than one bff. Explain to her that you would like them to b friends too but dont push it. Some people dont mix. I hope u guys stay best friends.
You should give me points. i wrote alot

this is a case of jelousy, and there is not much you can do, other than keep in touch with both, but do not get dragged in to arguements about who is best, make time for both and try to get a possible tree some going, it may work but I can not see it right now

Some people have a lack of self-confidence and are pissy about stuff like that. Maybe you've outgrown her and her drama.
