Yes, I've even got a Russian last name and lived in what is now the Russian Federation, but it was not pronounced properly there. It's not pronounced properly anywhere by anyone except people who have it as a last name. Sometimes people don't even bother to pronounce it; they give up because it is too long.

No, BUT my first and middle names were constantly getting me in trouble. My first name is pronounced Katherine but spelled Katharn, middle name pronounced Marie but spelled Marrie, teachers, after we moved to Tennessee, accused me of misspelling my own name and would fail me, I can't recall the number of times my Mom had to literally shove by birth certificate in a teacher's face to prove the spelling. At least I'm one of a kind, huh? (LOL)

Well, they said it so often they got familiar with it quickly. I was always being sent to the principals office or being punished for something. It really didn't take them long to learn it, but my last name was a more difficult one before I was married.

Not really.More like my 1st name cause it's spelled differently than any other. I have never had anyone say it right without me telling them what it was.

No, she could pronounce my last name very well, and she said a lot. Usually, she would attach my first name, which she had no trouble with either, and then add things like . . . . 'will you please sit down!' . . . . . 'we need to concentrate on our work, please.' . . . . . 'not another word, do you understand?' . . . . . and, 'if I have to speak to you again you'll go straight to the office!!'
