Well before the internet and cable people used to spend a lot more time with other people. I think people spent a lot more time outside playing games etc. Reading and the radio before tv came along, whole families would sit by the radio in the evening. Unfortunately for all the good the internet and cable have done, I think they have made us less social and less active, so we should all put some time aside from these activities and do something like run around outside or read a book, we would all see what we have been missing out on.....

What a sad question.
Talk
Play cards...paper cards, not computer cards
Bake together
Take walks
Sit on the porch and listen to the night
Read
Play board games
Go meet each other in person and socialize that way
Play more sports
Volunteer more
Sleep more
Make love more ( Love....not just random sex. I mean with a committed, adult partner)
Go fishing
Roller skate
Bike ride
Take drives
Watch TV as a family
P.S. I love the one by wildwisk...HOW TRUE. Except in our family we only prayed on Christmas Eve..."Pleeeeeeease God make sure I get good stuff tomorrow morning!"

My personal favorite activities before the internet: Go to the movies, go to concerts, go to a club, hang out with friends at a bar (even though I don't drink), read, watch TV, go to the library for information, read the newspaper for news, spend more time on the phone and do more driving.

We programmed Commodore 64's, used DOS, played PONG and donkeykong, used quarters for Ms. Pacman, paid 3cents for Bazooka Joe gum, we sneaked looksies at pretty gals in uncovered Playboys which were right in the same area as Archie comic books, we watched Lawrence Welk and Heehaw with 3 channeled television in black and white, we listened to police scanners, we bought cigarettes for our parents, cause they didn't' card us back then... we rode in cars without seat belts and didn't' worry about crashes, we got slapped for messing with our brother with the extended hand by our mom, we played that stupid paddle ball game with the string, until it broke, .. then we just got paddled, we didn't' talk back to our teachers, we listened to our grandparents, we played with lawn darts and matches, we built tree houses, and broke fluorescent bulbs behind convenient stores, we used trash bags and a water hose for a slip n' slide, we rode bikes without helmets or pads for miles and miles, we roamed the streets but came home when the street lights were on, and we said grace at every meal and a prayer at bedtime. :o)

Most of our time was spent fighting with the "rabbit ears" trying to get a good signal on our TV
